Fire in the open - Melbourn - South Cambs

At 5.03pm on Monday (27) crews were called to a field fire on The Moor in Melbourn.

More than 20 firefighters, including crews from Burwell, Cambridge, Sawston, along with the south roaming fire engine, a specialist 4x4 vehicle from Burwell and crews from Royston in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving bales well alight. They are using beaters to extinguish the fire and are working in sectors. Good progress is being made.

The incident is still ongoing.

The incident has concluded and crews have left the scene.
